How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation

Watching the film deepens my understanding of Chris compared to reading the book significantly because it makes it feel a lot more romantized. It makes me have more sympathy for him because it gives more emotion and feeling toward his reasoning behind why he is escaping society. The film shows more of his happiness in the wilderness and his emotions, while the book can only describe his actions.

I learned the difference of the way Chris's actions were viewed from the book vs the movie
