Chris McCandless rejects a traditional path of success and instead defines success on his own terms through freedom, experience, and personal meaning. Reflect on what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.
Currently, in my life, success to me is having at least B's in my classes, having good attendance, doing things on time, and managing my time good. However, success in societies eyes usually looks like having straight A's, getting a good job, being in lots of clubs, going to a great college, etc. I think this is just how the world has shaped expectations. My expectations for myself aren't that high, but I hope to achieve the best I can for myself.
This day we read chapters 9 and 10 and filled out papers doing connections
I learned how to connect a book to my personal experiences
