Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

My most unforgettable meal is last thanksgivings meal. Last year, our family went all out. We had two sides of the family come, my moms, and her boyfriend's family. Everyone brought a variety of dishes and deserts. It was one of my favorite meals ever, and I got seconds of both main meals and deserts. I loved spending time with them too.  today we took a test on the life you save may be your own  I learned how to communicate through answers

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

One time I realized I needed to look out for myself in a harmless situation was when I remembered multiple things that I had to do, so I wrote down a list to do them. I realized that if I did not write wthem down, I would not complete them and would get missing assignments. I have lots of trouble remembering things and tend to fall behind at school very easily, so I had to write these assignments down to save my grades from failing.  Today we read the rest of the story and answered the questions.  I learned that you should be careful who you trust, no matter what. I also learned that people can do bad things and still feel guilty about it .

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

I had an indirect encounter with a homeless person once, because I didn't;t speak to him, but I observed him. He was dancing and yelling on the corner of a street, and trying to talk to other people are ask them for money or just speak gibberish. It made me feel scared for my own safety because I didn't know what he could do since he was clearly on drugs. I also felt sad for him because he most likely fell into the trap of drugs and doesn't know how to get help.  Today we read part of the story "the life you save may be your own" I learned that you shouldn't always trust a stranger

Write about what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for my mother. I say this because she provides me with everything that I want or need. Things such as my car, a house, food, clothes, my guitar, etc. I am very grateful for, and I wouldn't have any of those things if it weretn for my mom. She works extremely hard and cares for us deeply and I really appreciate her for it.  This day was vocal Monday  I learned about vocal lesson 3

In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

The craziest new story that I've ever heard was the story Unknown number, which is a true event that happened between a mother, Kendra, and her daughter, Lauryn. Lauryn had a boyfriend at the time, then they mysteriously started receiving death threats and many other crazy messages constantly everyday. They brought it to the police and they could never figure out who it was. eventually, they traced it back to the mother. This was shocking for me, and I assume everyone watching. It was also shocking for their family. She then went to jail and got separated from her daughter, but Lauryn still forgives her mother.  today we read the rest of the story and then completed a chart today I learned the different between direct and indirect characterization.

nov 11Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

My house growing up holds many deep memories. My dad still lives in it today, so I go every other weekend to see it. I don't remember often, but when I go into rooms that I haven't been in before, I get positive flashbacks. I have changed bedrooms many times, I have redecorated, gone through old boxes, and moved different things to change the purposes of certain rooms. I remember my friends and I at young ages and specific furniture that we would play on. I also remember a lot from our backyard. Overall, I get positive memories from this house and I like to look back and remember those times.  we read a little bit of the story miss Emily.  I learned that miss Emily was cold and stubborn

nov 10 -Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

I have heard the word serendipity outside of the classroom when I watched the movie 'serendipity'. It is a really good movie about a couple that relies on fate to bring them together. The word itself means a fortune made by accident, which is similar to what happens in the movie. the context helped me understand the word better because in the movie, the events that kept bringing them together were coincidences, unless you believe in destiny.  we did a vocabulary assignment I learned what arable means

nov 7 - Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

The parent that has been the strictest when it comes to discipline has been my dad. Although I don't live with him anymore, he would not allow me to hang out with my friends, and he would take away my phone for small things when I saw him. For example, when I forgot to take the trash out, he took my phone for a day. Another time, he took my phone because I asked to go to my friends house who lives down the street at 11pm. This approach has caused me to become sneakier, and choose to live with my mother.  I was absent this day

nov 5 - Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

something my parents forbid me from doing when growing up was climbing outside my window and onto the roof. Me and my friends always wanted to climb out and watch the sunset. We had tried once, but our parents caught us and we got in trouble. We wanted to sit there and watch the sunset because we had a perfect view.  today we started the rock pile  I learned what a rock pile was and how it is a dangerous spot that you are forbid from

nov 3 -Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

a term that helped me better my writing was evaluate. specifically, it would be the phrase "evaluate the extent." This phrase along with the word evaluate helped my writing become stronger because in my AP courses, writing LEQ's and DBQ's used it in almost every prompt. Knowing what it means and how to answer it helped me create a great thesis, and made my writing consistent.  we did vocab this day  I learned the vocabulary words for lesson 1.
